The Brantford Sports Council would like to congratulate Doug Hunt the 2023 Community Ambassador Award winner. He was presented with the award at the 18th annual Sports Awards and Recognition Ceremony on April 6, 2024.

The Community Ambassador Award recipient is selected by the Brantford Sports Council Executive Committee and awarded annually to an individual for their lifetime contributions and support of the youth sports in our community. The Alan R. Cook Foundation is the sponsor of
this award.

• Doug has been recognized locally and nationally for many achievements.
• He is a proud promoter of Brantford and is always the first to volunteer his
support and participation for countless community groups in his hometown.
• He has been a longtime supporter of the Brantford Sports Council
• In 1998 Doug set a Guinness World Record – tallest and heaviest stilts
• In 2002 he set a Guinness World Record – tallest and heaviest stilts
• In 2008 he led 625 people on stilts for Guinness World Record – most people on stilts
• In 2023 set a new Guinness World Record – tallest stilts
• Doug was recipient of the 2002 Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal
• In 2012 the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal
• In 2022 the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 70th Anniversary Pin
