The Brantford Sports Council is pleased to announce that Lance Vipond, 2018 Brantford
and Area Sports Hall of Recognition Inductee, will be our keynote speaker at the 14h annual
Sports Recognition Banquet being held on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at the Brantford
Golf and Country Club, 60 Ava Rd.

Lance Vipond began skating at age 3 with the Brant Skating Club. In 1987 he finished 9th
in Novice Men at the Canadian Championships. The following year, he won the free skate
in the same event and finished 5th.

During the 1989 / 1990 season Lance represented Canada at the Oslo Piruetten, placing
1st before finishing 5th in Junior Men at the Canadian Championships. He competed at the
1990 Coupe Des Alpes and Nebelhorn Trophy international competitions, finishing 5th and
9th in Senior Men and finished 18th at the 1991 World Junior Championships.

Lance competed at four Senior national championships between 1991 and 1996 before
retiring at age 24.

He has gone on to a choreography career that has been highlighted by his recent work
with Canadians Katelyn Osmond and Keegan Messing.

Osmond is the 2018 Olympic bronze medallist and current world champion, while Messing
also competed in the 2018 Olympics.

In 2018 Lance was inducted into the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition to
recognize his figure skating accomplishments.

Banquet tickets are $60.00 per person, there is limited seating so register today.
