The Brantford Sports Council is pleased to announce that Michael Andlauer is the recipient of the Frank Tomlin Memorial Award for the 2023 Sportsperson of the Year. Michael joins an exclusive group of past recipients who have significantly contributed to sport in Brantford and area. The award named after Frank Tomlin is sponsored by the Bisons Alumni and has been presented annually since its inception in 1976.

Rick Mannen, presented the award to Peggy Chapman representing Michael Andlauer, at the 18th annual Brantford Sports Council Sports Awards and Recognition Ceremonies held on April 6, 2024 at the Laurier Research & Academic Centre.

Michael is the founder and Chair of the Bulldogs’ Foundation charity which raises money to benefit youth in the community.  Due to a long partnership with the Hamilton Tiger Cats CFL team, the Foundation has also raised more than $145,000 for Brantford Bisons youth football. This year alone in Brantford his Foundation has raised $45,000 for Brant Food for Thought, $10,000 for Brant Community Healthcare System pediatrics, and is the main sponsor of the Take A Shot Program ($35,000) run by Brantford Community Hockey, and fully funds introducing kids to hockey who otherwise would not have the opportunity.

Michael Andlauer is a competitive hockey owner, but also a committed community philanthropist. To him, the Bulldogs have always been more than just a hockey team – they are truly part of the community
